Block distractions on your computer

A free Chrome extension. Start a focus session and your most distracting sites lock behind a cozy "stay focused" page until your time is up.

Set it up in a minute

  1. Download the file above and unzip it (double-click it). You get a folder called mr-tapioca-focus.
  2. In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top-right switch).
  3. Click Load unpacked and choose the mr-tapioca-focus folder.
  4. Click the Mr. Tapioca icon in your toolbar, pick a length, and hit Start focusing.

Blocks distracting sites in your browser (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and more, and you can edit the list). It does not block other desktop apps.

Privacy

Mr. Tapioca Focus does not collect or send any of your data. Your chosen focus length and your list of blocked sites are saved only on your own device, using the browser's local storage. The extension makes no network requests of its own, has no analytics or trackers, and never reads the contents of the pages you visit. It only redirects the sites you added to your block list to a focus page while a session is running.
