How do I block my distracting apps during a focus session?
Open the More tab in the bottom bar, tap Settings, then tap Choose apps to block. iOS will ask for Screen Time permission the first time. Pick the apps you want blocked, go back, and start a focus session. Those apps stay shielded until you pause or finish. Blocking is optional, and sessions work fine without it.
Why can I not open my blocked apps?
That is the app doing its job. While a focus session is running, the apps you chose are shielded by Apple's Screen Time. Pause or finish the session in Mr. Tapioca and they unlock right away.
What are pearls and how do I earn them?
Pearls are the in-app currency. You earn about four pearls for every hour of focus. Spend them on character skins, tea bases, toppings, and shop backgrounds.
I bought a skin or background. How do I get it back on a new phone?
Premium skins and backgrounds are one-time purchases tied to your Apple ID. On a new device, open More → Settings → Purchases and tap Restore.
Is my drink progress saved?
Yes. Long drinks are resumable and your collection, pearls, and streaks are saved on your device. If you turn on the optional Study Squad, your display name and focus stats sync so friends can see you focusing.
How do I delete my account or data?
Study Squad is optional and uses an anonymous account (no email or phone). To delete it, open More → Settings and use the account deletion option. Everything else lives only on your device, so deleting the app removes it.
The boba map does not show shops near me.
The map uses your location to find real bubble tea shops from OpenStreetMap. Allow location access when asked, and make sure you have a connection. If a shop is missing, it may not be listed in OpenStreetMap yet. Email us and we can add it.
Does the app cost money?
No. Mr. Tapioca is free to download with no ads and no subscriptions. A few extra skins and backgrounds are optional one-time purchases.
